DEFENDING NATURE'S RIGHTS ON THE GLOBAL STAGE

The Embassy of Nature (TEON) is an initiative focused on integrating nature into global political frameworks, supported by the UN's International Youth Organization, the Council for Global Change, and the Global Youth Leadership Program.
TEON aligns with the 2030 Agenda, aiming to enhance nature's recognition and protection.

WHY NATURE
NEEDS A VOICE
In an era of environmental crisis, traditional systems have failed to protect our planet. It’s time for change.
Conceived by Luis Felipe Fernández-Salvador y Campodónico, sixth Marquis of Lises, within the framework of the United Nations’ International Youth Organization (OIJ) and supported by the Council for Global Change and the Global Youth Leadership Program, TEON aligns with and complements the objectives of the 2030 Agenda, specifically focusing on enhancing the recognition and protection of nature within international frameworks.
OUR MISSION IS SIMPLE
To elevate nature's status so that its rights are respected alongside those of nations. By giving nature a voice in international negotiations and policies, we aim to influence global discourse and drive action at the highest levels.

OUR APPROACH
-
Indigenous leadership & expert guidance: Collaborating with indigenous legislators, environmental defenders, and scientists.
 -
Decentralization & cooperation: Building a globally recognized organization, adhering to international protocols.
 -
Sustainable economy: Innovative economic models like debt-for-nature swaps to restore ecosystems.
OUR VISION
A Future Where Humanity and Nature Coexist.
We envision a world where nature is recognized as a quasi-population, deserving of rights and political protection, ensuring its survival and justice for future generations.

GENESIS OF TEON
01.

Why TEON Was Created
TEON was established with the vision of creating a political and diplomatic space to advocate for nature's rights globally. Inspired by the pressing need for a profound change in how societies and economies interact with the environment, TEON aims to incorporate nature's rights into national legal frameworks and foster a systemic shift in humanity’s relationship with its natural surroundings.
02.

Headquarters Presentation in Paris
TEON was introduced at the Paris Olympic Games this year, from July 25 to August 4, with its headquarters unveiled at the historic Hôtel Hérouet. The event gathered NGOs, scientists, artists, politicians, entrepreneurs, and indigenous representatives to highlight TEON's mission of integrating nature’s rights into national constitutions and promoting a shift in humanity’s relationship with the environment.
03.

Ongoing Awareness Actions
Since its launch, TEON has been actively raising awareness about conservation and sustainability. It serves as a platform for voices from science, arts, politics, and civil society to engage in dialogue and collaborate. TEON's current activities include events, debates, and panels on topics like sustainability, biodiversity, nature’s rights, and the economy’s role in environmental conservation.
04.

Casa Ecuador: A Pioneering TEON Initiative
For Ecuador, TEON organized "Casa Ecuador" at Hôtel Hérouet, showcasing artistic representations of Yasuní National Park. This initiative was well-received and will be replicated in other global cities during major expos to highlight biodiversity where it's underrepresented.
05.

TEON as a Government in Exile for Nature
TEON presents itself as "a government in exile" for nature, advocating for its rights and protection as though it were a sovereign entity with its own political voice. This innovative concept aims to fill the representation gap for nature in international political forums, proposing a radical shift in how public policies and economies value and consider the natural environment.
06.

Current Events and Debates
TEON’s agenda includes events and debates with experts and activists on topics like defending nature’s rights, cinema as a tool for ecological activism, and UN environmental policies. These sessions aim to inspire action and emphasize nature protection in political and social discourse, with content aligned to the goals of UN youth programs.
07.

Culture and Community
In addition to debates, TEON organizes cultural activities to promote community engagement and provide immersive experiences. Activities like musical performances, virtual reality explorations, and chocolate tastings help connect people with nature and foster a sense of community. These experiences are essential for engaging a wider audience in supporting nature's rights.
08.

Inspiring collective actions
The creation and ongoing development of TEON represent an effort to transform how we approach environmental protection. Through its inclusive and multidisciplinary approach, TEON is dedicated to inspiring collective actions that drive meaningful change to recognize and protect nature’s rights worldwide.
